In postmodern narratives, however, it assumes a function that extends beyond merely providing a backdrop for the occurrence of events. In Qasem Kashkuli’s short story “The Return,” the setting not only provides the spatial context in which events unfold and the narrative progresses, but also serves as a site where the protagonist’s experiences, emotions, and memories intersect with the story’s present reality. Employing a descriptive-analytical method and drawing on the principles of postmodern criticism, this study examines and analyzes the formation of the settings in “The Return” and their relationship with the components of postmodernism. The findings indicate that, by employing such postmodern features as nonlinear temporality, liminal space, spatial fluidity, the intermingling of past and present, the subjectivization of space, and symbolism, the author creates multilayered and unstable settings. Accordingly, the settings and the author’s mode of scene-setting contribute to the development of the story’s structural and thematic dimensions and relationships, thereby playing a significant role in transforming the work as a whole into a postmodern narrative.</p> <p>صحنه‌پردازی یکی از عناصر شکل‌دهندۀ روایت در داستان است که در روایت‌های پست‌مدرن، کارکردی فراتر از ایجادِ بستر برای وقوع رویدادها پیدا می‌کند. در داستان کوتاهِ «بازگشت» از «قاسم کشکولی»، صحنه، افزون بر این¬که فضایی برای شکل¬گیری رخدادها و حرکتِ داستان است، عرصۀ تلاقی تجارب، عواطف و خاطراتِ شخصیتِ اصلی با واقعیتِ جاری در داستان نیز هست. دراین پژوهش که به روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی انجام شده، با تکیه بر مبانی نقد پست‌مدرن، چگونگیِ شکل‌گیری صحنه‌های داستانِ «بازگشت» و نسبت و پیوند آن‌ها با مؤلفه‌های پست‌مدرنیسم، بررسی و تحلیل شده است. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که نویسندۀ داستان «بازگشت»، با بهره‌گیری از برخی مبانی پست¬مدرنیسم، مثل زمان غیرخطی، فضای بینابینی، سیالیتِ مکان، درهم‌آمیختگیِ گذشته و حال، ذهنی‌¬کردنِ فضا و نمادپردازی، صحنه‌هایی چندلایه و ناپایدار خلق کرده است؛ بدین واسطه، صحنه¬ها و شیوۀ صحنه‌پردازیِ نویسنده در تکوین ابعاد و مناسبات ساختاری و محتوایی این داستان، تاثیر نهاده و در تبدیل کلیت کار نویسنده، به یک روایت پست-مدرن، نقش ایفاکرده است.</p> https://www.jtpll.com/index.php/jtpll/article/download/465/279
