This work is not only remarkable in terms of narrative content and thematic structure, but, due to its artistic use of rhetorical devices, also constitutes a valuable corpus for the examination of linguistic and literary aesthetics. Accordingly, the present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the functions of rhetorical devices (metaphor and hyperbole) in Vis and Rāmin. The findings of this research, carried out using a descriptive–analytical approach and based on library-based data collection, indicate that rhetorical devices in Vis and Rāmin, as aesthetic elements, have not only transformed the text into a pleasing and enduring literary work, but have also added profound semantic layers to the narrative. These devices collectively construct a multidimensional portrayal of love, humanity, and destiny that compels every reader toward reflection and contemplation. The examination of metaphor in Vis and Rāmin, as one of the most prominent rhetorical devices, demonstrates the central role of this figure of speech in the creation of poetic imagery and in the deepening of emotional and philosophical concepts, such that, as a powerful expressive tool, it not only contributes to the formation of vivid and poetic images, but also, by linking natural, human, and divine elements, artistically articulates complex notions such as love, power, transience, and immortality; likewise, hyperbole plays a pivotal role in intensifying poetic expression, generating innovative imagery, and conveying profound emotions. This rhetorical device, through the exaggeration of attributes and events, enables the poet to transmit epic, emotional, and tragic concepts to the audience in an influential and astonishing manner. منظومه «ویس و رامین» اثر فخرالدین اسعد گرگانی، یکی از قدیمی ‌ترین و برجسته ‌ترین منظومه‌های عاشقانه در ادبیات فارسی است که از قرن پنجم هجری تا به امروز همچنان جایگاه خود را به عنوان یک اثر ماندگار حفظ کرده است. این منظومه نه تنها از لحاظ محتوایی و داستانی جذاب است، بلکه به دلیل استفاده هنرمندانه از فنون بلاغی، گنجینه‌ای ارزشمند برای بررسی زیبایی‌های زبانی و ادبی به شمار می‌‌آید. از این رو تحقیق حاضر که با هدف تحلیل کارکردهای فنون بلاغی (استعاره و اغراق) در منظومه ویس و رامین انجام پذیرفته است. نتایج این مطالعه که به روش توصیفی-تحلیلی انجام پذیرفته است و اطلاعات آن با استفاده از روش کتابخانه‌ای گردآوری شده است نشان داد که فنون بلاغی در منظومه ویس و رامین به ‌عنوان عناصر زیباشناختی، نه تنها متن را به اثری دل‌نشین و ماندگار تبدیل کرده ‌اند، بلکه لایه‌های معنایی عمیقی به داستان افزوده ‌اند. این فنون در کنار هم تصویری چندبعدی از عشق، انسان، و سرنوشت خلق کرده ‌اند که هر خواننده‌ای را به تفکر و تأمل وامی‌دارد. بررسی استعاره در منظومه ویس و رامین، به ‌عنوان یکی از برجسته ‌ترین فنون بلاغی، نشان ‌دهنده نقش محوری این آرایه در خلق تصاویر شاعرانه و تعمیق مفاهیم عاطفی و فلسفی است به طوریکه، به ‌عنوان ابزاری قدرتمند، نه ‌تنها به خلق تصاویر بصری و شاعرانه کمک کرده، بلکه با پیوند دادن عناصر طبیعی، انسانی و الهی، مفاهیم پیچیده‌ای مانند عشق، قدرت، زوال و جاودانگی را به ‌گونه‌ای هنرمندانه بیان کرده است و اغراق، نقش محوری در تقویت بیان شاعرانه، خلق تصاویر بدیع و القای احساسات عمیق ایفا کرده است. این فن بلاغی، با بزرگ‌نمایی اوصاف و رویدادها، شاعر را قادر ساخته تا مفاهیم حماسی، عاطفی و تراژیک را به ‌گونه‌ای تأثیرگذار و شگفت ‌انگیز به مخاطب منتقل کند.
