Consequently, researchers encounter significant challenges in the examination, interpretation, and critical analysis of such works. Employing a descriptive–analytical method, the present article addresses the theoretical foundations gap and critiques existing perspectives concerning the two genres of the children’s novel and the young adult novel, and seeks to propose an appropriate definition for each while systematically identifying their structural and content-related features. The findings indicate that children’s novels and young adult novels differ substantially in narrative elements, linguistic complexity, thematic scope, characterization, degree of realism, visual dimension, and intended audience. The primary characteristics of the children’s novel include simple language, extensive illustration, tangible and imaginary characters, and a straightforward structure with a linear plot; in contrast, the prominent features of the young adult novel consist of an intimate narrative voice, realistic and multidimensional characters, and a multilayered structure with deeper narratives that perform an identity-forming function. The young adult novel occupies an intermediate position between children’s narrative literature and adult fiction and, beyond providing entertainment and pleasure for adolescent readers, plays a crucial role in enhancing awareness, strengthening social values, and preparing adolescents cognitively and psychologically for entry into more complex stages of life.</p> <p>«رمان کودک» و «رمان نوجوان» دو گونه‌ ادبی در حوزه ادبیات داستانی کودک و نوجوان هستند که به‏ویژه در سال‏های اخیر مورد توجه قرار گرفته‏اند و بسیاری از نویسندگان به خلق رمان برای مخاطب کودک و مخاطب نوجوان روی‏آورده‏اند، اما در پژوهش‏های ادبی، تعریف مستقل و واضحی از این گونه‏ها ارائه‏نشده‏است و منابع علمی چندانی برای تحلیل ویژگی‌های ساختاری و محتوایی آن‌ها وجود ندارد؛ از این‏رو، پژوهشگران برای پرداختن به این آثار و تحلیل و واکاوی آن‌ها با چالش‌های زیادی روبه‏رو هستند. در این مقاله با روش توصیفی- تحلیلی، ضمن پرداختن به خلأ مبانی نظری و نقد دیدگاه‏ها در زمینه دو گونه رمان کودک و رمان نوجوان، کوشیده‏ایم‏ایم تعریفی مناسب برای این گونه‏ها ارائه‏دهیم و ویژگی‏های ساختاری و محتوایی آن‌ها را به‏طور دقیق برشماریم. این پژوهش نشان‏می‏دهد که دو گونه ادبی رمان کودک و رمان نوجوان در عناصر روایی، پیچیدگی زبانی، گستره موضوعات، شخصیت‌پردازی، میزان واقع‌گرایی، جنبه تصویری، و نوع مخاطب با یکدیگر تفاوت‌ دارند. شاخصه‏های اصلی رمان کودک زبان ساده، تصویرگری گسترده، شخصیت‌های ملموس و خیالی، و ساختار ساده با پیرنگ خطی است، اما ویژگی‏های برجسته رمان نوجوان زبان صمیمی، شخصیت‌های واقعی و چندبعدی، و ساختار چندلایه است و روایت‌های عمیق‌ با کارکرد هویت‌ساز دارد. رمان نوجوان در میانه ادبیات داستانی کودکان و ادبیات داستانی بزرگسالان قراردارد و علاوه‌بر سرگرم‏کردن و لذت‏بخشیدن به مخاطب نوجوان، نقشی مهم در ارتقای آگاهی، تقویت ارزش‌های اجتماعی، و آماده‌سازی ذهنی و روانی نوجوان برای ورود به مراحل پیچیده‌تر زندگی دارد.</p> https://www.jtpll.com/index.php/jtpll/article/download/254/175
